Matthew Jason Howell, 38, of Lake Charles, died Thursday, May 30, 2024. He was born in Lake Charles.

He is survived by his son, Carter James Howell of Lake Charles; mother, Anita Kay Perez (Raul) of Lake Charles; father, Robert Louis Howell of Shreveport; siblings, Paul Joseph Perez of Lake Charles, Lacy Perez of Houston, Texas, and Tiffany McCollough of Lake Charles; grandfather, Arthur Parker (Alice) of Sulphur; grandmother, Geneva Perez of Sulphur.

Matthew was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Doris Howell; grandmother, Matilda MacEachern.

A Celebration of life service was held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur, on Friday, June 7, with Hixson Celebrant Jody Tyler. Burial followed at Bates Cemetery in Sulphur.
