Wilfred LeJeune, Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wilfred Joseph LeJeune, Jr., a beloved father, brother, grandparent, and friend. Wilfred, who was born on May 22, 1943, in Gueydan, left us on Friday, Nov. 28, 2025.

Wilfred was a hardworking carpenter who dedicated his life to building homes and creating lasting memories with his family. He proudly served his country in the Army, and after his military service, he found joy in everything from fishing and hunting to showing off his skills on the pool table at Bucks and Ducks. Wilfred had a passion for life and took the time to appreciate the simple things, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Christine (Keith Hanagriff) LeJeune; sons Danny (Chasity), Tony, and Timothy (Mary) LeJeune; sisters Carol (Harold) Myers, Brenda (Mike) Hammersky, and Audrey Wallis; brother Kenneth LeJeune; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, all of whom cherish their memories with him.

Friends and family gathered to celebrate Wilfred’s life at Miguez Funeral Home in Lake Arthur on Wednesday, Dec. 3. A public viewing began at 10:30 a.m. A rosary was held at 6 p.m., leading into the funeral service at 6:20 p.m. He will be cremated following the service.

Wilfred was preceded in death by: the love of his life, Barbara LeJeune; parents, Wilfred and Effie Hines LeJeune; and his siblings, Betty Duval, Rodney LeJeune, Bobby LeJeune.
