Two to vie for Cameron Parish Police Jury District 4 seat

Kirk Quinn

Kirk Quinn of Sweetlake is seeking Cameron Parish Police Jury District 4 seat.

Quinn is a lifelong resident of Cameron Parish and a graduate of South Cameron High School. He has been a resident in Sweetlake since 1992. He has served on the Police Jury for three terms. He is married to Jene Quinn. They have five children and seven grandchildren.

Quinn is a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, a 3rd degree Knights of Columbus, serves on ACTS Retreats and the St. Kolbe prison ministry retreats.

Wendell Wilkerson

Wendell Wilkerson announced his candidacy for Cameron Parish Police Jury District 4.

Wilkerson is a graduate of South Cameron High School. After high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served from 1976 until 1979. While in the Marine Corps he was meritoriously promoted twice. Wilkerson has worked in private business for over 45 years.

He is currently the owner of Wilkerson with offices in both Cameron and Lake Charles.

He has served on several boards including South Cameron Hospital Board, West Cameron Port Board for almost 20 years and was a National Little Briches Rodeo board member for six years. He has sponsored many community and sports events for over 40 years.

He was married to the late Barbara Wilkerson and they have three children: Trey Wilkerson, Victoria Allan and Jacob Wilkerson; and ten grandchildren. He resided in Creole for many years and after Rita relocated to Sweetlake for the past 19 years.
