There was a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Gravity Drainage District 9 at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the Hackberry Waterworks Office, 1190 Main St., Hackberry, LA 70645.
Members Present: Wesley Hardin, Gordon Gremillion, Bobby Stansel, Will Aucoin
Absent: Jared Desormeaux
Employees Present: Brad Hinton and Shaun Kyle
Special Guest: Blaine Johnson – Southland Environmental
The meeting was called to order by president Wesley Hardin and the following business was discussed.
On motion of Bobby Stansel, seconded by Will Aucoin and carried unanimously the Board approved the previous meeting minutes.
Updates were given on the School House Marsh project. Blaine presented the “Water Control Plan” as requested by the Army Corp of Engineers to satisfy the permit requirements. The Board requested monitoring to be stated as “monthly and in response to major weather events” in the report.
Lateral maintenance updates were given by Brad Hinton. Callaway Land Mgmt. will start spraying the laterals with drones August 25-28. The Brimstone invoice will be revised and resent the Drainage Dept. with a new total due for services.
Employee evaluations were reviewed by the Board members.
On motion of Bobby Stansel, seconded by Will Aucoin and carried unanimously the Board approved the permit for Hilcorp Energy 250802.
On motion of Will Aucoin, seconded by Bobby Stansel and carried unanimously the Board approved the permit for Cameron Parish Police Jury 250806.
On motion of Bobby Stansel, seconded by Gordon Gremillion and carried unanimously the Board accepted the July 2025 Financial Reports and Actual vs Budget Report.
On motion of Bobby Stansel, seconded by Gordon Gremillion and carried unanimously the Board approved all invoices for payment.
On motion of Gordon Gremillion, seconded by Bobby Stansel and carried unanimously the meeting was adjourned.
