The Hackberry Fire Protection District 1 Board met for a regular session at the Hackberry Fire Station located at the 1025 Main Street on Monday July 15, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. Members presents by roll call were Mr. Curtis Fountain, Mr. Gerald Landry, Mr. Butch Little, Mr. Robert Silver, and Mr. Thad Little. Police Juror Mr. Michael Fewel was present along with District members Chief Mark Granger, Assistant Chief Brad Lester, Member Glenn Welch, and employee Ms. Destiny Seay. No guest attended.
The meeting was called to order by Mr. Thad Little. The Pledge and Prayer was led by Robert Silver. Roll was then taken by Mr. Thad Litte. On motion from Mr. Gerald Landry, seconded by Mr. Curtis Fountain and carried unanimously, the minutes from June 17, 2024, were dismissed.
Monthly financial reports for the month of February were given by Ms. Destiny Seay and were dismissed on motion by Mr. Gerald, seconded by Mr. Curtis and carried unanimously.
Under old business, Chief Granger reviewed the status of projects for the district: 1. Scopes of work for contract repairs on the fire station. 3. Clearing of the land behind the fire department. 4. The Automatic Aid Agreement for structural fires.
Under new business the following was discussed: 1. Chief Granger spoke about the PIAL rating status, and what’s needed to get a good rating. 2. The status and options for the new fire truck were then spoken about. Once the scope is completed for the new truck, the truck committee will then meet to discuss the scope made so the progress for the new truck can move forward. 3. The response run report. 4. Under training, EMR Response class along with A&M Industrial School were then discussed.
There being no further business, on the motion of Mr. Curtis Fountain, seconded by Mr. Gerald Landry and carried unanimously, the meeting was declared adjourned.
