Rep. Ryan Bourriaque received The Chair’s Award for his leadership and vision as Chairman of the House Transportation Committee at the 2025 Legisgator Luncheon on Friday, Aug. 15, at L’Auberge Casino Resort in Lake Charles.

The Chair’s Award is given to a legislator who goes above and beyond in supporting the priorities of the Southwest Chamber. This past session, the legislature made huge strides with a targeted package of reform bills to reshape the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.

This package of bills increased transparency, streamlined permitting and improved coordination with local officials, all aimed at cutting red tape and putting more dollars into infrastructure. This House member met with colleagues, local government officials and community stakeholders to ensure these changes were embraced by all.
