The Hackberry Fire Protection District 1 Board met for a regular session at the Hackberry Fire Station located at 1025 Main Street on Wednesday September 17, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. Present: Mr. Thad Little, Mr. Colton Sanner, Mr. Lawrence Little, Mr. Robert Silver, Mr. Gerald Landry, and Police Juror Mr. Michael Fewell. Employees present: Sydney Bird District members present: Chief Clint Welch, Mr. Brad Lester Absent: None Special Guest: Garret Blanchard – Blanchard Electric and Jared Desormeaux – Lakeside Construction The meeting was called to order by Board President Thad Little who also led the pledge and prayer. On motion from Lawrence, seconded by Robert and carried unanimously, the minutes from the August 25, 2025, meeting, were approved. The monthly updates and financial reports including the Actual vs. Budget Report for the month ending in August 31, 2025 were presented by Sydney. The budget for 2026 was reviewed. 4- yes 1-no, On motion from Lawrence, seconded by Robert, and carried unanimously, to raise electrical panels, building platforms outside and inside, disconnecting and reconnecting outside a/c units and installing the generator. A part is ordered for Engine 1, once that is installed the truck will be ready for pickup. A wire issue was found on the Brush Truck that is currently at CLM Equipment. Per Diem will be paid to the members of the department for each in-house training and all department authorized training. The Fireman’s equipment sign out sheet is finalized. Board meeting dates: October 6th, November 17th, and December 3rd. Chief Welch will be setting up a date to meet with Chief Gaspard to review the Automatic Aid Agreement with Cameron Parish Fire District 10. The Automatic Aid Agreement with Carlyss Fire will be in affect Monday, September 22nd, 2025. Hackberry High School update. On motion by Colton, seconded by Lawrence, and carried unanimously, for an add on to the agenda to transfer funds. On motion by Lawrence, seconded by Robert, and carried unanimously, to take money from the LAMP account and put into Sabine Bank in Hackberry. There being no further business, on motion from Gerald, seconded by Robert and carried unanimously, the meeting was adjourned.
