Cameron Parish Mosquito Abatement District No. 1

The monthly meeting of the Board of Directors of Cameron Parish Mosquito Abatement District No. 1 was held at 6:00 p.m., December 12, 2023 at the Cameron Parish Mosquito Control Office. Board members present were Mitchel Kelley, Thomas Cox, Robert Trahan and James Boudreaux. Marck Smythe, Gregory Gray, and Karl Styron were absent.
The meeting was called to order by Thomas Cox, who then asked for the reading of the minutes from the last meeting, November 2, 2023. A motion was made by James Boudreaux, seconded by Mitchel Kelley, and carried that the minutes be approved as printed. A motion was made by Mitchel Kelley, seconded by Robert Trahan, and carried to approve the financial statement.
In new business, Mitchel Kelley made a motion, seconded by James Boudreaux, and carried to approve the 2023 amended budget. Then Robert Trahan made a motion, seconded by Mitchel Kelley, and carried to approve the 2024 proposed budget.
Next, Mitchel Kelley made the motion, seconded by James Boudreaux, and carried to advertise for chemical, aerial, and truck bids.
Mitchel Kelley then made a motion, seconded by Robet Trahan, and carried to approve the registration expenses for the LAAA convention.
Mitchel Kelley made a motion, seconded by Robert Trahan, and carried to add an item to the agenda to discuss the Capital One Checking account. It was decided to table the decision until the next meeting.
There being no further business, Mitchel Kelley made a motion, seconded by James Boudreaux, and carried to adjourn the meeting.
