MINUTES OF
PROCEEDINGS
The Board of Commissioners of Lower Cameron Hospital Service District met in a Regular Session on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 4:00 p.m., at the Cameron Parish District Attorney’s office in Cameron, Louisiana. Members present were Chairman Stephanie Rodrigue, Vice Chairman Mary Canik, Shawn Bonsall, Vickie Kiffe, Tredale Boudreaux, Kevin Dupke, and Michelle Trahan. Cameron Parish District Attorney Tom Barrett, Assistant District Attorney Chelsea Champagne, Paul Alexander, Sonny McGee, Jason Rashall, Carson Walker, Gerald Bryant, Mark Daigle, and Trudi Dewey attended.
Stephanie Rodrigue, the chairman, called the meeting to order. A quorum was determined.
Upon motion by Vickie Kiffe, seconded by Tredale Boudreaux, the agenda was unanimously approved.
The Board of Commissioners received a public comment from Paul Alexander, who updated the board on the landscape maintenance of the hospital property and drainage near the physician’s house. It was noted that bids would be sought for landscape maintenance, following the completion of the demolition project.
Upon motion by Mary Canik, seconded by Vickie Kiffe, the Minutes of the August 27, 2024, Regular Meeting was unanimously approved.
Upon motion by Tredale Boudreaux, seconded by Shawn Bonsall, the Board of Commissioners unanimously approved an updated timeline on construction projects following demobilization for Hurricane Francine mandatory evacuation, as prepared by Joshua Hoffpauir, AIA, NCARB Hoffpauir Studio Architecture.
The Board of Commissioners participated in discussions with Lake Charles Memorial Health System representatives regarding the operations, staffing, and budgeting of the South Cameron Memorial Hospital Medical Clinic.
Upon motion by Shawn Bonsall, seconded by Michelle Trahan, the Board of Commissioners unanimously approved financial reports and bank statements.
Upon motion by Michelle Trahan, seconded by Vickie Kiffe, the Board of Commissioners reviewed invoices and unanimously approved all bills to be paid.
Upon motion by Vickie Kiffe, seconded by Mary Canik, the Board of Commissioners unanimously approved entering into Executive Session via roll call vote to discuss Stonebridge Health Systems, LLC vs. Lower Cameron Hospital Service District and Lower Cameron Hospital Service District and Stonebridge Health Systems, LLC d/b/a South Cameron Memorial Hospital vs. Independent Specialty Insurance Company and Interstate Fire & Casualty Company.
Upon motion by Tredale Boudreaux, seconded by Vickie Kiffe, the Board of Commissioners unanimously approved to return to Regular Session.
It was noted that the next regular meeting was previously scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, 2024, at 4 p.m. at the Cameron Parish District’s Attorney Office in Cameron, Louisiana. There was no further business, and the meeting was adjourned.
