Regular Meeting

March 21, 2024
Board President Kathleen Simon called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Board Members present were Ernest Roberts, Wendy Harrington, Kathleen Simon, Beth Ferguson, and Jessica Crador. Board Members not present were Peter Posada. Ernest Roberts led the pledge of allegiance and Wendy Harrington led the prayer.
No public comment.
On the motion by Wendy Harrington, seconded by Ernest Roberts, and carried, the Library Board voted and accepted the January minutes.
On the motion by Ernest Roberts, seconded by Wendy Harrington, and carried, the Library Board voted and accepted the financial statement. On the motion by Ernest Roberts, seconded by Jessica Crador, and carried, the Library Board voted and accepted to give $50.00 in per diem, per meeting, to attending board members.
On the motion by Wendy Harrington, seconded by Ernest Roberts, and carried, the Library Board voted and accepted to make the following construction upgrades to the Johnson Bayou Library: 1) Install spray foam insulation under the elevated structure, and 2) Install cement board.
On the motion by Ernest Roberts, seconded by Beth Ferguson, and carried, the Library Board voted and accepted to drop/cancel the Lowry flood insurance.
On the motion by Ernest Roberts, seconded by Beth Ferguson, and carried, the Library Board voted and accepted to donate the Grand Chenier Library conex box to the Grand Chenier Maintenance Barn.
There being no further business and upon the motion by Beth Ferguson, seconded by Ernest Roberts, and carried, the Library Board voted unanimously to adjourn at 5:56 p.m.
