Monty Pearce raised an issue with the mouth of the North Canal. It is his opinion that the mouth of the North Canal is eroding due to currents from marine traffic in the Intracoastal Waterway. He recommends we armor the mouth of the North Canal lateral. Tommy Arceneaux asserted that it may save us more money in the long run. He stated if we don’t armor it, then we will have to clean the mouth every year. Monty Pearce agreed to meet with the landowner and the Parish’s Coastal Zone Administrator to see if this is a viable project.
On motion of Terry Smith, second by Tommy Arceneaux and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
