GRAVITY DRAINAGE
DISTRICT 9
Parish of Cameron
Minutes of Meeting –
January 19, 2022
Hackberry Waterworks Office
ADMINISTRATIVE:
Members Present: Wesley Hardin, Jared Desormeaux, Bobby Stansel, Gordon Gremillion
Member Absent: Will Aucoin
Employees Present: Brad Hinton, Shaun Kyle
Special Guests: Blaine Johnson, Keith Ousley
Public Comment: Mr. Ousley stated the two culverts along his levy cannot handle the amount of flow caused by rain water and his levy is being washed out. He would like the Drainage Board to install more culverts to accommodate the flow of water from the surrounding area. The Board stated they would not dig into the levy not knowing what it is made of since there is no record with the Parish of a permit when the levy was constructed. The Board will check with the permitting office to see if a permit can be obtained for any work going forward.
The December Minutes and Financial Report were distributed to the board for review prior to the meeting. Wesley Hardin asked if there was a motion to approve the minutes. Jared Desormeaux made a motion to approve the minutes as presented and Gordon Gremillion seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
