BOARD MEETING
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Delia Sanders, Paul Sellers, Tammy Peshoff and Shantell McDaniel
BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: Wendy Gaspard
FIREMEN PRESENT: Chief Tim Dupont, Catlyn Hendrix and Cookie Dyson
The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. and the pledge was led by Tammy. On a motion by Tammy and seconded by Shantell, the minutes of the April 10 meeting were approved.
The financial report was not ready, so no action was taken on the agenda item.
In the chief’s report, the following action was taken:
On a motion by Tammy and seconded by Paul, six sets of bunker gear will be purchased at $1360 each, 6 bags at $48 each and 6 sets of gloves at $48 each, for a total of $1860.
On a motion by Paul and seconded by Tammy, the gear shifter on the truck will be fixed by Bona Venture for $926.
On a motion by Paul and seconded by Shantell, the chief will hire out the hydrant testing at $40 per hydrant for about 100 hydrants. The testing includes a CD with all the system info needed for the rating inspection.
Chief told about the west roll-up door at station #1 and two doors at station #2 at Ridgecrest were rusted out or broken. A-1 Door will be coming out to give estimates for repairs or replacements. No action was taken.
On a motion by Tammy and seconded by Paul, the board voted to hire out the fire hose testing to Mickie’s Fire Hose, Inc. for an estimated cost of $2000.
On a motion by Paul and seconded by Tammy, the board voted to purchase 5 pieces of 3” hose, 5 pieces of 2.5” hose, 5 pieces of 1.5” hose, and 4-25’ pieces of 2.5” hose for hydrants to equip the truck for the upcoming fire rating inspection.
On a motion by Paul and seconded by Tammy, the board voted to purchase 2 piercing nozzles and a thermal image camera and whatever else the fire chief needs to purchase for the fire rating inspection.
On a motion by Tammy and seconded by Shantell, the board voted to adjourn the meeting at 6:08 p.m.
