BOARD MEETING
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Delia Sanders, Paul Sellers, Wendy Gaspard, Tammy Peshoff, and Shantell McDaniel
FIREMEN PRESENT: Chief Tim Dupont, Catlyn Hendrix, and Angel Baccigalopi
The meeting was called to order at 5:45 p.m. and the pledge was led by Shantell.
On a motion by Paul and seconded by Tammy, the minutes of the March meeting were approved.
The financial report was discussed and it was discovered that the second donation of $75,000 has been received, which leaves the department with a balance of $199,095. On a motion by Tammy and seconded by Wendy, the financial report was accepted and approved.
Delia reported that the Police Jury had held a meeting about the approval of the tax millage and that they had signed papers on the fire department’s behalf.
The cleaning of the fire station was brought up with the question of having someone clean once a month. It was discussed and agreed that the chief has to be informed and approve the usage of the building by anyone for anything. Whoever uses the building will have to clean thoroughly before leaving. It was also agreed to attempt a work day to clean the building for a few months, then if that is not feasible, to hire a volunteer to clean.
The chief reported that
1. Ben had fixed all the pumps on the trucks and they were all working properly.
2. Jennifer Jones would be sending another letter to the lawyer for the former firefighters.
3. The 911 generators do not keep records as previously thought and that fact would count against the whole parish in the rating.
4. He had mailed all the paperwork and would be requesting the rating next month.
5. Only 6 buildings still needed inspections and should be finished soon.
6. The hydrant flow tests need to be done soon. The next few weeks after work & weekends, volunteers are needed to help with the tests.
7. Truck inventories needed to be done soon.
There was no other business to discuss, so with a motion by Paul and seconded by Wendy, the meeting was adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
