PROCEEDINGS

There was a regular meeting of Gravity Drainage District No. 8 at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the Grand Lake Waterworks Office.
PRESENT: Terry Smith, Gary Baccigalopi, Monty Pearce, James Cox
ABSENT: Tommy Arceneaux
GUESTS: Mitch Thomas
On motion of Terry Smith, second by Gary Baccigalopi and carried, the minutes of January 15, 2026, meeting are approved.
On motion of Gary Baccigalopi, second by James Cox and carried, the February 2026 Finance Report was accepted by the board as presented by the Secretary.
The Secretary notified the board that they would be required to pass a resolution fixing the millage rate at their next meeting on May 21, 2026.
Monty Pearce requested the board to consider converting an existing drain ditch, near Lucy Lane, to a drainage lateral to be maintained by the drainage board. James Cox reported that the board did not have any minimum standards to consider when creating a new drainage lateral; therefore, he would need more information on the drainage ditch before he could decide. Following discussion, no action was taken on this matter.
On motion of James Cox, second by Terry Smith and carried, the board approved the following permits:
a. LCUP # 260202 – Venture Global CP Express – lease workspace4 along Hwy 384 on either side of the GIWW
On motion of James Cox, second by Gary Baccigalopi and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
