The legendary Tarpon at South Cameron High School is officially back—and better than ever! Once a Tarpon, Always a Tarpon!

A huge Thank You goes out to Marshland Equipment and their incredible team for their all-out dedication to restoring this iconic piece of South Cameron High School pride and tradition. From start to finish, their craftsmanship, commitment, and pride in our community were second to none.

This wasn’t a simple touch-up. It was a full restoration—rebuilt from the inside out, carefully transported hundreds of miles, and returned looking absolutely stunning. The result speaks for itself.

We are proud, grateful, and excited to see this symbol of South Cameron standing tall once again. Thank you, Marshland Equipment, for going above and beyond for our school and our community!

We also extend our sincere thanks to Dustin and Lindsey Fontenot for generously providing the brickwork beneath the Tarpon at no cost to the district or the school. Their willingness to help and their support of this project played an important role in an effort that truly turned out amazing.
