The Cameron Parish Water and Wastewater District No. I Board met in regular session on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. in the water district office located at 126 Ann Street in the town of Cameron, Louisiana.
Guest: None
Vice President Tammy Peshoff called the meeting to order.
The Pledge was led by Tammy Peshoff and the voluntary Prayer was led by Tammy Peshoff
Roll Call: Present: Tammy Peshoff, Kathy Guthrie, Cecil Clark III and Fred Sanders
Absent: Chris Mooney
There were no Public Comments.
On a motion by Kathy Guthrie, seconded by Cecil Clark III and carried, to approve and dispense from reading the regular session March 2021 minutes.
On a motion by Cecil Clark III, seconded by Kathy Guthrie and carried, to approve the financial statement for the month of March.
On a motion by Kathy Guthrie, seconded by Cecil Clark III and carried, that the bills for the month of March 2021 be paid.
On a motion by Cecil Clark III, seconded by Kathy Guthrie and carried, that the President stated that the purpose of the meeting was for canvassing and tabulating the returns of an election held in Cameron Parish Water and Wastewater District No. 1, Cameron, Louisiana (the “District”) on March 20, 2021, on the question of authorizing renewal of an ad valorem tax on al taxable property within the District, and thereupon presented the following proces verbal, which was adopted by the following vote:
YEAS: 4 – Tammy Peshoff, Kathy Guthrie, Fred Sanders and Cecil Clark III
NAYS: 0
ABSENT – 1 – Christine Mooney
BE IT KNOWN AND REMEMBERED that on this 22nd day of April, 2021 at 4:00 o’clock p.m., in accordance with a resolution of the Board of Commissioners, serving as governing authority of the District, adopted on November 10, 2020 and recorded in the records of said Board, notice of which meeting was issued and published according to law, the undersigned members of the Board, being a quorum thereof, met at the regular meeting place of the Board, and according to law examined the tabulation blanks, certificates and statements which were received from the Commissioners and Commissioners-in-Charge of he election held in the District on March 20, 2021, in accordance with said resolution, together with the transcription of the totals made by the Clerk of Court and Ex-Officio Parish Custodian of Voting Machine in and for Cameron Parish to determine the following proposition:
MAINTENANCE MILLAGE RENEW AL PROPOSITION
Shall Cameron Parish Water and Wastewater District No. 1, Cameron, Louisiana, be authorized to renew levy of a tax of none and forty hundredths (9.40) mills on the dollar of assessed valuation on all property subject to Taxation in said district (an estimated $211,359 reasonably expected to be Collected from the levy of this tax per annum) for a period often (10) years, Commencing with the year 2022, for the purpose of operating and maintaining said District’s water and wastewater systems within and for said district.
The results of said election proved to be as follows:

On a motion by Kathy Guthrie, seconded by Cecil Clark III and carried, that public was notified of the intent of Cameron Parish Water & Wastewater District #1, to adopt the tax millage rate at the May 25, 2021 board meeting.
On a motion by Kathy Guthrie, seconded by Cecil Clark III and carried, to adopt a new contract between Cameron Parish Water & Wastewater Dist. #I and Coastal Cans to dump portable sewer can waste.
On a motion by Kathy Guthrie, seconded by Cecil Clark III and carried, there being no further business, the meeting stands adjourned.
