Jeanne d’Arc Cavalier Rodrigue, born Oct. 29, 1922, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025 at the age of 102. She was a native of Brusly St. Martin and a resident of Paincourtville.
At nearly 103, she held many titles: a devoted daughter, loving wife, nurturing mother and most importantly a devout Catholic. She filled most of her days with prayer and has honorably served as the matriarch of the family for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Joseph Rodrigue, her parents, Marie Gautreaux Cavalier and Noe(Jack) Cavalier, older siblings, Joseph and Josephine Cavalier and her foster brother Norris Gros Sr.
She is survived by four children, Amelia Rodrigue, Henrietta Phillips (Andy), Clara St. Pierre (Wayne) and Nicholas Rodrigue (Stephanie); seven grandchildren, Scott and Chad Singer, Toby and Benji Arboneaux, Sherry A. Dillingham, Jeanne S. Harrison and Stephen St. Pierre; ten great grandchildren, Brooke S. Yates, Haley, Cole and Lyla Singer, Treg and Drew Arboneaux, Violet and Caroline Dillingham, Hannah and Jax Harrison; and two great-great grandchildren, Charlie Recotta and Gracie Yates.
Visitation will be at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church on Friday, Oct. 31, beginning at 10 a.m. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 11:20 a.m. followed by Mass at 12 p.m. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. Father Tomi Thomas will be officiating.
