JDEC planned outages told

To the Members of Jeff Davis Electric:

We have some great news.

In the coming months, JDEC will be switching over to grid power and taking the substations off generators. Unfortunately, this will require some lengthy outages.

The Fulton Substation in Cameron is tentatively scheduled to be taken off generators and connected to grid on Wednesday, Nov. 12. This will be a 10-hour outage beginning at 8 a.m. We do understand an outage of this length can be a burden and we thank you for your understanding and patience. Members of Creole and Cameron will be affected.

The Johnson Bayou Substation is tentatively scheduled to be taken off generators and connected to grid power on Wednesday, Nov. 19. All members West of the ferry will be affected including Holly Beach and Johnson Bayou.

This has been a long time coming and JDEC is extremely excited to finally be making this announcement. Please reach out to us at 337-824-4330 if you have any questions.
