MINUTES
The Cameron Parish Tourist Commission held its Regular Session on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Cameron Parish Police Jury Conference Room in Cameron, Louisiana. The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Chairperson Carolyn Miller, who led the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the opening prayer.
COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Carolyn Miller, Chairman; Vicki Little, Vice Chairman; Michele Long, Secretary/Treasurer; Geralyn Myers; Susan Boudreaux; Mary Johnson
ABSENT: Joe Ann Labove

PUBLIC COMMENT: None
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Pending draft minutes of the previous meeting were distributed to all board members via email prior to the meeting. A motion to approve the October 16, 2025 minutes as presented was made by Susan Boudreaux, seconded by Geralyn Myers, and passed unanimously. The approved minutes will be published in the Cameron Pilot, the paper of record.
CORRESPONDENCE: Invitation to Louisiana Convention & Visitors’ Bureau.
TREASURER’S REPORT: A motion to approve the October 2025 financial report as presented was made by Susan Boudreaux, seconded by Mary Johnson, and passed unanimously.
REVIEW AND PAYMENT OF BILLS: None
OLD BUSINESS:
Ratify Recurring Charges: A motion to approve the recurring charges for the Cameron Pilot & Google Workspace was made by Michele Long, seconded by Susan Boudreaux, and passed unanimously.

The board will continue exploring and promoting events to showcase Cameron Parish.

A motion to approve Susan Boudreaux’s purchase and reimbursement for supplies for the 2025 Christmas on Capitol Hill was made by Mary Johnson, seconded by Geralyn Myers, and passed unanimously.
A motion to approve the $1500 stipend to outgoing Miss Cameron Parish, Sydney Waters, as a heartfelt thank-you for her incredible work representing Cameron Parish was made by Susan Boudreaux, seconded by Vicki Little, and passed unanimously.
A motion to approve the $2500 sponsorship to the Louisiana Fur & Wildlife Festival was made by Susan Boudreaux, seconded by Vicki Little, and passed unanimously.
A motion to approve reimbursement to Vicki Little for supplies related to the Grand Lake High School Career Day was made by Susan Boudreaux, seconded by Michele Long, and passed unanimously.
Website & Social Media: The commission website’s overall traffic is up 93% over last year, with the majority of that traffic increase from Google search and direct visits (bookmarked for keying in the address).
The commission’s social media/Facebook page will host a photo contest based on hunting and fishing throughout the month of December.
Cameron Prairie Wildlife Refuge Visitors’ Center Update-Commissioners will work as volunteers while awaiting the MOU with the refuge.
NEW BUSINESS:
The Board will maintain its focus on the five strategic goals identified in the 2026–2030 Cameron Parish Tourism Strategic Plan. Commissioners are requested to designate a specific objective and corresponding implementation measures for which they will assume a leadership role in 2026.
A motion to approve a request to increase Enterprise Funds from the State of Louisiana to enhance tourism marketing, expand community events, and strengthen efforts to promote Cameron Parish as a premier destination was made by Vicki Little, seconded by Susan Boudreaux, and passed unanimously
UPDATES:
Beachfront Development District 1 – 2026 Ferry Landing West Improvement Project will include parking lot regrading, shoreline erosion protection with rock and backfill, upgraded lighting, and new signage.
The Cameron Preservation Alliance Lighthouse Run in Holly Beach on November 1, 2025 was well-attended, and repairs to the Sabine Lighthouse— including the center pole and steps—are currently underway.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Ethics and Prevention of Sexual Harassment Trainings are required to be completed by December 31, 2025.
NEXT MEETING: Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. in the Police Jury Conference Room.
