The Hackberry Fire
Protection District 1
January 14, 2026
The Hackberry Fire Protection District 1 Board met for a regular session at the Hackberry Fire Station located at 1025 Main Street on Wednesday January 14, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
Present: Mr. Thad Little, Mr. Colton Sanner, Mr. Lawrence Little, Mr. Robert Silver, Mr. Gerald Landry
Employees present: Sydney Bird
District members present: Chief Clint Welch, Brad Lester
Absent: Mr. Michael Fewell
Special Guest: None
The meeting was called to order by Board President Thad Little who also led the pledge and prayer.
On motion from Lawrence, seconded by Robert and carried unanimously, the minutes from the December 3, 2025 meeting, were approved.
The financial report for the month of November was presented by Sydney.
On motion from Gerald, seconded by Robert, and carried unanimously to not approve the purchase requisition for Tint.
On motion from Gerald, seconded by Colton, and carried unanimously, to not approve the purchase requisition for new ladders, specifically the 35-foot ladder.
An update was provided on the electrical panel.
An update was provided on the installation of the generator.
Tabled item #3 will be tabled until 2027. The board members want the information gathered to be presented at the next meeting to discuss tabled item #4. On motion from Gerald, seconded by Lawrence, and carried unanimously, to table raising the chief’s salary until February meeting when more data is gathered.
The Board members tabled until next meeting and wants the cost of badges next meeting.
Chief Welch reported on Fire Department activities. Equipment/apparatus maintenance update: Annuals reviewed.
There being no further business, on motion from Gerald, seconded by Robert and carried unanimously, the meeting was adjourned.
