PARISH OF CAMERON
Pursuant to its Resolution adopted and published notices of an election in Cameron Parish, the Cameron Parish Police Jury, being the governing agent, did meet in regular session on the 2nd day of December 2024 at the Police Jury West Annex in the village of Cameron, Louisiana to examine, tabulate, and canvass the results of the election held on November 5, 2024, in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.
PRESENT: Ronald Nunez, Jr., Mark Daigle, Magnus McGee, Danny Myers, Michael Fewell, Sam Bordelon, and Johnny Watson
ABSENT: None
It was moved by Magnus McGee, seconded by Danny Myers, and duly carried that the returns be examined, tabulated, and canvassed. As well as the results announced, and duly carried that a Proces Verbal be made of these proceedings and that a certified copy of same be published to give public notice of the results of the election held on November 5, 2024, regarding Hackberry Fire District No. 1 which motion was adopted by the following vote:

THE HACKBERRY
FIRE PROTECTION
DISTRICT NO. ONE
BE IT KNOWN that the Cameron Parish Police Jury convened in regular session in the Cameron Parish Police Jury Annex in the village of Cameron, Louisiana, as advertised in the election notice of an election in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.
PRESENT: Ronald Nunez, Jr., Mark Daigle, Magnus McGee, Danny Myers, Michael Fewell, Sam Bordelon, and Johnny Watson.
ABSENT: None
The said Cameron Parish Police Jury, in the presence of the undersigned witnesses, and members of the public present, did proceed to examine, tabulate, and canvass the returns and declare the results of said election upon the following proposition and submitted thereat:
PROPOSITION
(MILLAGE RENEWAL)
Shall Hackberry Fire Protection District No. One of Cameron Parish Louisiana (“District”), be authorized to renew a levied tax of four and seventy-one hundredths (4.71) mills on the dollar of assessed valuation on all property subject to taxation in said District, for a period of ten (10) years, commencing with the year 2025 and ending with the year 2034, with collections from the levy of the tax estimated to be $608,646 for one entire year, for the purposes of operating and maintaining said District’s fire protection facilities, and paying the cost of obtaining water for fire protection purposes, including charges for fire hydrant rentals and service within said District?
After such examination, it was found that the total of said election on the Proposition (Millage Proposition) was 593 votes in number.

It appears that said Proposition (Millage Renewal) had carried by a majority in the number of votes cast at said election; the said Cameron Parish Police Jury did publicly announce and proclaim and does hereby proclaim that the aforesaid Proposition (Millage Renewal) was duly carried for said purposes and said period duly authorized in the form and manner provided by the Constitution and Laws of the State of Louisiana.
At the same time and place, we did examine and canvass the returns as evidenced by said tabulation blanks, certificates, and statements received from the election Commissioners and Commissioners-in-Charge, the correctness of which were sworn to by the election Commissioners-in-Charge and Commissioners according to law, and our finding was that the returns indicated a majority voted in favor of the Proposition.
Therefore, we declare that the result of said election is in favor of the Proposition as stated above.
In accordance with law, a resolution promulgating the aforesaid results was adopted, and the Secretary of the Board was ordered to have a copy of said resolution signed by the President and published in one issue of the Cameron Pilot, a newspaper published in DeQuincy, Louisiana, and of general circulation in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.
In accordance with the provisions of R.S. 18:1293, a copy of the Notice of Election is attached hereto as Exhibit A. An affidavit showing proof of publication of said notice is attached hereto as Exhibit B. We did, likewise, order that one copy of this proces verbal be sent to the Secretary of State to be recorded in the archives of the State of Louisiana and that one copy be sent to the Clerk of Court of the District Court of Cameron parish to be recorded in the mortgage records of said Parish and that one copy be filed in the archives of this Board.
The actual cost of the Election was $251.94
THUS DONE AND SIGNED in the presence of the witnesses who sign hereto, as well as in the presence of the members of the said Cameron Parish Police Jury after causing the tabulation to be filed in the archives of its office in the village of Cameron, Louisiana, this 2nd day of December 2024.
