Lindy Spicer has been named Hackberry’s High School Teacher of the Year.
This is Spicer’s 8th year teaching at Hackberry. She teaches Chemistry, Physical Science, Biology, Biology II, and STEM/Robotics. This year that includes 6th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades, She is certified in Biology, Chemistry, and General Science. She likes to incorporate games, challenges, and hands-on activities into class time, as well as teaching college study skills to upperclassmen.
Hackberry has been her home for 28 years and both her children attend HHS.
Skye Lanah has been named Hackberry’s Middle School Teacher of the Year.
Born and raised in Sulphur, Lanah is in her 15th year of teaching and loves being part of the Hackberry High family, where she now teaches middle school math. She enjoys spending time at church with her family, crafting with friends, traveling and shopping.
She and her husband, Tenny, are happiest chasing after their three-year-old son, Canaan.
Laura Griffith has been named Hackberry’s Elementary Teacher of the Year.
Griffith is currently teaching 3rd-5th English Language Arts. She graduated from McNeese State University in 2013 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education Grades Pre K- 3rd. She is also a certified Mentor Teacher.
This is her 13th year of teaching. She can’t wait to make this the best year yet!
Shannon Jinks has been named Hackberry’s Support Staff of the Year.
Jinks has been with Cameron Parish School Board for 24 years. She is married to Dale Jinks and they have two children, Brandon and Skylar; and five grandkids.
She absolutely loves her job as Technology Integration Specialist.
