Middle School

Grand Lake High School has announced the 2025 Middle School Teacher of the Year – Krystal Doxey.

Doxey has been inspiring young minds as a dedicated educator for the past four years. She currently teaches middle school math and business math, where she brings energy, clarity, and real-world relevance to the classroom. In addition to her work as a teacher, she serves as a middle school basketball coach, mentoring students both academically and athletically. A proud mother of two daughters and wife, she balances her professional life with a deep commitment to her family. Her passion for teaching, leadership, and student growth makes her a standout recipient of this year’s Teacher of the Year honor.

Support Staff

Grand Lake Support Staff of the Year for 2025-26 is Torrey Evans.

Evans has been employed with Cameron Parish School Board for 21 and 1/2 years. She started out at the central office as a special education secretary. She then transferred to South Cameron Elementary as a secretary/bookkeeper until Hurricane Rita where she then transferred to South Cameron High School.

After her time at SCHS, she transferred to GLHS where she has been for the past 15 years. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. What she loves most about her job is the people she works with everyday. What GLHS loves most about her, is she keeps this school running financially from the money needed to run athletic events to teacher classrooms to keeping up with employee pay!
