Get ready for one of Cameron Parish’s most cherished traditions! The Louisiana Fur and Wildlife Festival Parade will roll through downtown Cameron on Saturday, Jan. 10, at 1:30 p.m., bringing excitement, music, and community spirit to the heart of the coast.
New Parade Route: This year, the parade will travel west to east, starting near the Ice House and ending at Davis Rd. Bead throwing begins at the Ice House, so make sure you’re in position early to catch the fun!
This year’s marshals will honor King Furs from the Fishing Industry, paying tribute to those who helped shape Cameron’s coastal heritage. Past honorees include King Fur I – Jack Styron, King Fur X – Pat Doody, King Fur XIX – Edward W. Swindell, Jr., King Fur XXVII – Robert Schwark, Sr., King Fur XXXVII – James A. Miller, and King Fur XLVII – Loston McEvers.
