Joshua Fitkin has been named this year’s Grand Lake High School Teacher of the Year.
Fitkin has been teaching for eight years, all at Grand Lake. He started teaching science and is now teaching STEM.
He went to Grand Lake for elementary, middle, and high school. He graduated in 2013. He went to college at McNeese.
He is the FCA sponsor and the eSports assistant coach.
He received a substantial grant that gives students the opportunity to build a real, road-worthy electric car.
His passion in education is developing innovative and engaging courses that enhance students’ preparedness for future career pathways.
His hobbies are playing music and spending time with his wife and 2-year old son.
Fitkin loves cheering on his students at sporting events and school activities, supporting them in the things they’re passionate about outside the classroom.
