There was a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Gravity Drainage District 9 at 6:05pm, Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the Hackberry Waterworks Office, 1190 Main St., Hackberry, LA 70645
Members Present: Wesley Hardin, Jared Desormeaux, Bobby Stansel, Will Aucoin, Gordon Gremillion
Employee Present: Shaun Kyle
Special Guest: Blaine Johnson – Southland Environmental
The meeting was called to order by president Wesley Hardin and the following business was discussed.
Public Comment period was given on all agenda items. No comments were made.
On motion of Jared Desormeaux, seconded by Bobby Stansel and carried unanimously the Board approved the previous meeting minutes.
Blaine Johnson gave updates on the School House Marsh Project. The NOAA has suggested the size of the structure be increased for better control and allow a larger flow of outgoing water in the event of flooding conditions.
On motion of Jared Desormeaux, seconded by Gordon Gremillion and carried unanimously the Board elected to have Southland Environmental submit a new set of drawings for permitting which increase the size of the structure as suggested by the NOAA.
Ongoing lateral maintenance was reviewed. The Buck Gray lateral, the ditch at Superior Rd., water line for Scott Benoit, and the Alleman lateral have all been completed this past month.
On motion of Will Aucoin, seconded by Gordon Gremillion and all members voting YEA, the Board adopted the Proces Verbal from the November 5, 2024 election outcome (pass/fail) and official election returns for Gravity Drainage District No. 9.
On motion of Jared Desormeaux, seconded by Bobby Stansel and all members voting YEA, the Board adopted the Resolution Promulgating the results of the November 5, 2024 election for Gravity Drainage No. 9.
On motion of Jared Desormeaux, seconded by Gordon Gremillion and carried unanimously the Board accepted the November 2024 Financial Report and Actual vs Budget Report.
On motion of Jared Desormeaux, seconded by Will Aucoin and carried unanimously the Board elected to have the payroll for Shaun Kyle go through the Police Jury.
On motion of Bobby Stansel, seconded by Gordon Gremillion and carried unanimously the Board approved all invoices for payment.
On motion of Jared Desormeaux, seconded by Will Aucoin and carried unanimously the meeting was adjourned.
