PROCEEDINGS

There was a special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Water District No. 2 at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 02, 2022, at the Hackberry Waterworks office.
PRESENT: Mr. Michael Fewell, Mr. Donald Buford, Mr. Brad Hinton, Mr. Mike Welch
ABSENT: Mr. Mark Trahan
Employees present: Mr. Glenn Welch and Mrs. Shaun Kyle
Guests: Representing Sempra Infrastructure – Mrs. Kelly Prasser, Mr. Jim Thompson, and Mr. Morris Gilbert
The meeting was called to order by Board President Michael Fewell who also led the pledge and prayer.
Public Comment period was given on all agenda items. No comments were made.
Representatives from Sempra Infrastructure presented to the Board the new LA Storage project plans which include utilizing 3 existing caverns and drilling a 4th cavern for natural gas storage. The facility will include 4 saltwater disposal wells and 6 freshwater wells along with all associated piping to meet the increasing needs of LNG facilities in the area. Representatives proposed a quarterly water monitoring schedule during construction and mining as well as annually for 5 years following mining completion. The Board informed the representatives they would seek legal council before deciding to accept the presented monitoring schedule and may decide at a later date to alter the schedule to meet the needs of the community and the Waterworks.
After reviewing 3 submitted bids, on motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Mike Welch and carried unanimously, the Board elected to use King Mechanical to install a new Trane Heat Pump and air handler system in the office.
After reviewing all submitted employment applications, the Board decided to interview all applicants on Monday February 7th.
There being no further business, on motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Donald Buford, and carried unanimously, the meeting was declared adjourned.
