MINUTES OF
PROCEEDINGS
The Board of Commissioners of Lower Cameron Hospital Service District met in a Regular Session on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, at 4 a.m., at the Cameron Parish District Attorney’s office in Cameron, Louisiana. Members present were Chairman Stephanie Rodrigue, Vice Chairman Mary Canik, Tredale Boudreaux, Kevin Dupke, Michelle Trahan, Shawn Bonsall, and Vickie Kiffe. Secretary/Treasurer Julie Trahan was in attendance. The guests in attendance were Michelle Vincent and Scott Trahan.
Stephanie Rodrigue, the chairman, called the meeting to order. A quorum was determined.
The agenda was unanimously approved upon motion by Vickie Kiffe, seconded by Mary Canik. There were no public comments.
The December 26, 2024, regular meeting minutes were unanimously approved upon motion by Tredale Boudreaux, seconded by Mary Canik.
Upon motion by Mary Canik, seconded by Tredale Boudreaux, the Board of Commissioners unanimously authorized the employment of Michelle Vincent as Secretary/Treasurer, immediately effective upon her availability and retaining Julie Trahan for three months for training and assistance, both at the current $800/month rate. Commencing in the fourth month, Julie Trahan would consult as needed at an hourly rate commensurate with the current monthly rate.
Upon motion by Shawn Bonsall, seconded by Vickie Kiffe, the Board of Commissioners approved the $1,306.60 per quote obtained from Dubois Sheet Metal Work, LLC through Lake Charles Memorial Health System, to fabricate and install an aluminum step and platform at the South Cameron Memorial Hospital Medical Clinic mobile unit. Kevin Dupke was opposed to the motion.
There was no action taken on three proposals submitted for consulting services in reference to hospital feasibility. The initial Request for Proposals was not submitted for board consideration.
Upon motion by Michelle Trahan, seconded by Tredale Boudreaux, the Board of Commissioners unanimously approved financial reports and bank statements.
Upon motion by Shawn Bonsall, seconded by Mary Canik, the Board of Commissioners reviewed invoices and unanimously approved all bills to be paid.
It was noted that the next regular meeting was previously scheduled for Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 4 p.m. at the Cameron Parish District’s Attorney Office in Cameron, Louisiana. There was no further business, and the meeting was adjourned at 4:34 p.m.
