The CAMERON PARISH SCHOOL BOARD will receive SEALED BIDS FOR the sale of property located near Johnson Bayou, LA located in T14S-R15W: SEC 21: S/2 SEC 22: S/2 SEC 23: SW/4; W/2 of SE/4; NE/4 SEC 26: W/2; N/2 of NW/4 of NE/4 SEC 27: N/2; N/2 of S/2 SEC 28: NE/4 (#330392 Donation from BP America Production CO.), containing a minimum 1564 acres and a maximum 2020 acres. By law, said bids shall be at least the appraised value or higher as per the Appraisal Report by Leonard P. Pauley, dated January 9, 2024.
The bids for the sale will be accepted until the hour of 3:00 p.m. at the Cameron Parish School Board Office on March 18, 2024, located at 510 Marshall Street Cameron, LA. All bids must be submitted on or before March 18, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. All bids must be sealed; the envelope marked Bid For Property located at 510 Marshall Street Cameron, LA, Full Name and Address of the Bidder, along with Attention: Charley Lemons-Superintendent. Mailed or Hand-delivered bids should be sent to the above address.
This property is being sold “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES. SELLERS and PURCHASES shall acknowledge and recognize that the property being sold and purchased is to be transferred in “as is” condition and PURCHASER does hereby relieve and release SELLERS from any claims or causes of action for redhibition pursuant to Louisiana Civil Code article 2520, et seq. and article 2541, et. seq. or for reduction of purchase price pursuant to Louisiana Civil Code article 2541, et seq. Additionally, PURCHASERS acknowledge that this sale is made without warranty of fitness for ordinary or particular use pursuant to Louisiana Civil Code article 2524. It is understood that this clause shall be made part of the deed.
This property is subject to an imprescriptible mineral servitude in that certain Act of Donation from BP American Production Company to the Cameron Parish School Board effective August 30, 2013, and recorded File #330392 in the Cameron Parish Clerk of Court’s office; however, the Cameron Parish School Board shall reserve any potential future mineral rights in and to said property. Furthermore, the Cameron Parish School Board expressly saves, excepts, and reserves the right to store, inject and sequester liquid and gaseous substances including but not limited to carbon dioxide and associated substances within any carbon dioxide stream in subsurface pore space, salt domes, cavities and other underground structures now or hereafter created which are now or hereafter susceptible to commercial exploitation, and the right to leach or construct Storage Reservoirs, together with all rights and powers in, to, and over said property, as well as the rights to any bonus, rental, fee, proceeds, revenue, or other compensation relating to the pore space or subsurface arising out of said reserved rights.
