Edward Hebert

Edward Hebert, 84, of Hackberry passed away on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026.

He was born to his late parents, Eldridge Sr. and Marie Hebert on Jan. 16, 1942 in Jeanerette. Edward was a native of Johnson Bayou and had lived in Holly Beach for 38 years before moving back to Hackberry in 2005. He and his wife owned and operated Hebert Mobil Station in Holly Beach. He was a member of St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church in Hackberry. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his crop with his friends and family. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, who he loved very much.

He is survived by his son, Terry Wayne Hebert of Hackberry; one sister, Patsy Dugas (Ivy) of Vinton; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Edward was preceded in death by his wife Linda Lou Hebert; his parents; son, Patrick Hebert; brother, Eldridge Hebert, Jr.; along with his sister, Edna Mae Theriot.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church in Hackberry, on Friday, Jan. 30, at 11 a.m., with Reverend Arvind Minz, H.G.N. officiating. Visitation will be at the church hall on Thursday, Jan. 29, from 5 until 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume in the church hall on Friday, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Hackberry Community Cemetery.
