CPSO to conduct Active Shooter training at SCHS

The Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office will be conducting Active Shooter training at South Cameron High School to enhance the safety and preparedness of our first responders and community. The training sessions will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout July, with an additional session on Friday, July 25.

During these training exercises, deputies will be practicing inside and outside the school building. Deputies may be seen in full gear, including weapons. Please be advised that all weapons used during training will be Simunition (training weapons), which are incapable of chambering or firing live ammunition.

The Sheriff’s Office wishes to inform the public of these activities to prevent concern and ensure transparency. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we undertake this important training to maintain public safety.
