The Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office has terminated the employment of a deputy, Carson Walker, following his arrest in Calcasieu Parish by Lake Charles Police Dept. on Saturday, Nov. 1.
Walker was charged with one count of Domestic Abuse Battery and one count of Domestic Abuse Battery: Intentional Use of Force with Dangerous Weapon.
Walker was immediately placed on administrative leave upon notification of the incident and has since been terminated.
Sheriff Chris Savoie stated, “The standards for those who wear this badge are – and will remain – exceptionally high. We hold our deputies accountable for their actions both on and off duty. This behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated under any circumstances.”
The Cameron Sheriff’s Office emphasizes its commitment to integrity, professionalism, and public trust.
“The people of Cameron Parish deserve deputies who uphold the law and reflect the values of our community,” Sheriff Savoie added. “When an employee fails to meet those standards, decisive action will be taken.”
The Sheriff’s Office will continue to cooperate fully with the arresting agency.
