MINUTES
The Cameron Parish Beachfront Development District #1 Commission convened for its regular session on Monday, June 9, 2025, at the Johnson Bayou Community Center. The meeting was called to order at 5:09 p.m. by Chairman Michele Long, who led the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer.
COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairman Michele Long, Vice-Chairman Russell Badon, and Commissioner/Secretary Cindy Snead
ABSENT: Commissioner Tammy Erbelding, Commissioner B.J. Miller
GUESTS: None
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: A motion to approve the minutes of the May 12, 2025 meeting as presented was made by Russell Badon, seconded by Cindy Snead, and unanimously carried by the board.
PUBLIC COMMENT: None
FINANCIAL REPORT: A motion to approve the May 2025 financial report as presented was made by Russell Badon, seconded by Cindy Snead, and unanimously carried by the board.
OLD BUSINESS:
Ratify Recurring Charges: A motion to approve the recurring charges for the Cameron Pilot and Superior Storage was made by Russell Badon, seconded by Cindy Snead, and unanimously carried by the board.
Holly Beach Subcommittee: Craig Broussard gave an update regarding the upcoming Holly Beach Crab Festival (June 13-14) and also the Kite Contest (June 21st).
Love the Boot Beach Cleanup Report: A motion to close the 2025 Love the Boot Beach Cleanup Project was made by Russell Badon, seconded by Cindy Snead, and unanimously carried by the board.
NEW BUSINESS:
A motion to table the purchase of 10 water rescue tubes and supplies was made by Russell Badon, seconded by Cindy Snead, and unanimously carried by the board.
A motion to purchase the needed amount of “Do Not Enter Beach” signage was made by Russell Badon, seconded by Cindy Snead, and unanimously carried by the board.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Ethics Training and Prevention of Sexual Harassment Training are due by December 31, 2025.
