The Hackberry Fire Protection District 1 Board met for a regular session at the Hackberry Fire Station located at 1025 Main Street on Monday July 28, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. Board members present by roll call were Mr. Thad Little, Mr. Colton Sanner, Mr. Lawrence Little, Mr. Robert Silver, and Mr. Gerald Landry. Also present, district members Chief Clint Welch, Mr. Brad Lester, employee Mrs. Sydney Bird, and Police Juror Mr. Michael Fewell. Guests present, Mrs. Trudi, Mrs. Anita, and Mr. Brad Williamson.
The meeting was called to order by Mr. Thad Little. The Pledge and Prayer was led by Thad Little followed by taking roll. On motion from Lawrence, seconded by Gerald and carried unanimously, the minutes from June 30, 2025, were dismissed.
On motion from Colton, seconded by Robert and carried unanimously to open all bids for the new Pumper Apparatus. On motion by Gerald, seconded by Colton and carried unanimously to add an executive session to the agenda. On motion by Robert, seconded by Lawrence and carried unanimously to go into executive session. On motion by Colton, seconded by Lawrence and carried unanimously to come out of executive session. On motion by Gerald, seconded by Robert to accept US Fire Apparatus’s Bid for the new pumper apparatus. Monthly financial reports were given for the month of June. The following purchase requisitions will stay tabled, 1. Striping the parking lot, 2. Tinting the bay doors. The board wants to re-evaluate all tabled purchase requisitions quarterly.
Under old business, Chief Welch reviewed: 1. Generator update and possibly moving the electrical up. 2. Pick up and disposal of foam containing PFAS. 3. Updates the Brush Truck repairs. 4. The clearing of the land behind the fire station. 5. Hydrant repair 6. Hackberry’s Ladder 1 for Klondike. 7. Standard Operation Procedures are being revised. 8. Software received for the current APX6000 portable radio to WIFI to make it capable of working inside Hackberry High School. 9. Community outreach Touch-A-Truck event August 5th, 2025, at the Hackberry Community Center.
Under new business the following was discussed: 1. Chief Clint discussed fire department activities: The response run report along with department training.
There being no further business, on the motion of Gerald, seconded by Robert and carried unanimously, the meeting was declared adjourned.
