POLICE JURY
JULY 10, 2025
The Cameron Parish Police Jury met in special session on Monday, July 10, 2025, in the Cameron Parish West Annex Board Room in the Village of Cameron, Louisiana at 9:05 o’clock A.M.
The following members were present: Mr. Ronald Nunez, Jr., Mr. Michael Fewell, Mr. Magnus McGee, Mr. Ron Johnson, Mr. Sam Bordelon, and Mr. Johnny Watson. Mr. Mark Daigle was absent.
It was requested by Mr. Fewell to add amending the ordinance, clarifying the Road and Bridge Superintendent will report to the jury.
There was no public comment on adding this agenda item.
It was moved by Mr. Fewell, seconded by Mr. Bordelon, and carried, the board hereby approves to add (Item 4) authority to advertise to amend the ordinance, clarifying the Road and Bridge Superintendent will report to the jury.
It was moved by Mr. Fewell, seconded by Mr. Watson, and carried, the board hereby grants authority to advertise ordinance change, clarifying the Road and Bridge Superintendent will report to the jury.
The vote thereon was recorded as followed:
YEAS: Ronald Nunez, Jr., Michael Fewell, Ron Johnson, Sam Bordelon and Johnny Watson.
NAYS: Magnus McGee
ABSENT OR NOT VOTING: Mark Daigle
It was moved by Mr. Fewell, seconded by Mr. Watson, and carried, the Jury shall go into Executive Session to interview and discuss the character and professional competence of applicants for the Road & Bridge Superintendent position.
The vote thereon was as follows:
YEAS: Ronald Nunez, Jr., Michael Fewell, Magnus McGee, Ron Johnson, Sam Bordelon, and Johnny Watson
NAYS: None
ABSENT OR NOT VOTING: Mark Daigle
The president called the meeting back to order at 2:35 o’clock P.M., and the jury returned to regular session.
It was moved by Mr. Fewell, seconded by Mr. Johnson, and carried, the board hereby promotes Alex Benoit as the new Road and Bridge Superintendent, effective July 14, 2025.
There being no further business, it was moved by Mr. Fewell, seconded by Mr. McGee, and carried, the meeting was declared adjourned.
