?LEGAL NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that Black Bayou Gas Storage, LLC has applied for a 401 Water Quality Certification to clear, grade, excavate, and place fill to construct the Black Bayou Gas Storage Project. The project will provide approximately 34.7 billion cubic feet of underground natural gas working storage capacity at the facility approximately 15 miles west of Hackberry in Cameron Parish. It will include the construction of four natural gas storage caverns, one compressor station, one leaching plant, seven natural gas-fired generator units, nine freshwater wells, nine saltwater disposal wells, permanent access roads, associated piping and valve settings, an electrical area, additional auxiliary equipment, and other appurtenant facilities. The natural gas storage caverns will be supplied by two 27.4 mile, 24-inch-diameter, looped bi-directional natural gas pipelines that will interconnect with existing and planned third-party interstate natural gas transmission pipelines. Facilities to be constructed in association with the pipelines include ten meter stations, five mainline valve sites, temporary access roads, and permanent access roads. The pipelines and associated facilities will be located in Cameron and Calcasieu Parishes. Black Bayou Gas Storage, LLC is applying to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, Office of Environmental Services for a Water Quality Certification in accordance with statutory authority contained in the LAC 33:IX.1507.A-E and provisions of Section 401 of the Clean Water Act.
