There was a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Gravity Drainage District 9 at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the Hackberry Waterworks Office, 1190 Main St., Hackberry, LA 70645
Members Present: Jared Desormeaux, Bobby Stansel, Gordon Gremillion, Will Aucoin
Member Absent: Wesley Hardin
Employees Present: Brad Hinton and Shaun Kyle
The meeting was called to order by vice president Jared Desormeaux and the following business was discussed.
Public Comment period was given on all agenda items. No comments were made.
On motion of Bobby Stansel, seconded by Will Aucoin and carried unanimously the Board approved the previous meeting minutes.
Updates on the new building replacement: Poles are set and concrete will be poured next week.
Updates on Long Point Bayou: Parish engineer Gary Johnson sent pictures to Brad of the spillage into the natural waterways which is a result of the spoil overflowing the levees as well as flowing through where the levees have been cut.
On motion of Will Aucoin, seconded by Gordon Gremillion and carried unanimously the Board elected to have a 24” flap gate built by Howell Industries.
On motion of Bobby Stansel, seconded by Will Aucoin and carried unanimously the Board elected to use Matt Guinn Construction to clean the Barry Bruce and Buck Gray laterals.
On motion of Gordon Gremillion, seconded by Bobby Stansel and carried unanimously the Board accepted the February 2024 Financial Report and Actual vs Budget Report.
On motion of Will Aucoin, seconded by Bobby Stansel and carried unanimously the Board approved the invoices for payment.
On motion of Gordon Gremillion, seconded by Will Aucoin and carried unanimously the meeting was adjourned.
