PROCEEDINGS
The Cameron Parish Waterworks District No. 10 met in regular session at the Waterworks office located at 6246 Gulf Beach Hwy. in Johnson Bayou on October 13, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Members present by roll call were Nathan Griffith, Kent Carlson, and Mark Young. The members absent were Bobbie Trahan and Connie Trahan. The employees attending were Rhonda Morrison, Shannon Hebert, and Aaron Jinks. Guests attending were Fenstermaker representatives Derek Lafosse and Billy Arceneaux.
It was moved by Nathan Griffith to call the meeting to order.
The pledge was said by all present. The prayer was led by Nathan Griffith.
It was moved by Kent Carlson to accept the agenda as presented. The motion was seconded by Mark Young and carried.
A Public Comment period was given on all agenda items. No comment was made.
It was moved by Kent Carlson, seconded by Mark Young, and carried to accept the September minutes as read.
Derek Lafosse presented an estimated project cost for a new elevated water tower and 2 concrete storage tanks vs. an elevated water tower and 2 welded steel storage tanks. No decisions were made.
It was moved by Mark Young to have Fenstermaker obtain soil samples from Commonwealth to see if the soil they are disposing would be sufficient for the new site. No comment was made. The motion was seconded by Kent Carlson and carried.
The Office of Community Development grant that was awarded in 2025 in the amount of $116,666.00 has not been released to the Cameron Parish Police Jury for disbursement to the Water District.
Bobbie Trahan resigned off the board. After discussion, it was decided to appoint Kenny Trahan to fill the open position.
It was moved by Mark Young, seconded by Kent Carlson, and carried to approve the bank statements and the Actual vs. Budget report for the month ending September 2026.
It was moved by Kent Carlson, seconded by Mark Young, and carried to approve the bills as paid.
