POLICE JURY
SPECIAL MEETING
JULY 30, 2026
The Cameron Parish Police Jury met in special session on Thursday, July 30, 2026, in the Cameron Parish West Annex Board Room in the Village of Cameron, Louisiana, at 9:00 A.M. The following members were present: Mr. Michael Fewell, Mr. Magnus McGee, Mr. Wendell Wilkerson, Mr. Ronald Nunez, Jr., Mr. Mark Daigle, Mr. Sam Bordelon, and Mr. Johnny Watson. No member was absent.
The meeting was called to order, and the president went over meeting rules for public comment.
Public Comment was opened on agenda item 3 – Consideration of closing parish roads. Sara Roy with Venture Global explained the importance of the temporary closure of this portion of the road as a safety concern while moving equipment.
Green Cards for public comment in opposition was received on agenda item 3 – Consideration of closing parish roads were received and comments were heard from:

After hearing all comments, the public comment period on item 3 was declared closed.
A green card for public comment was received in opposition of agenda item 5(a) – Executive Session, consider removal of Kevin Dupke from the Lower Cameron Hospital Service District Board and the comments were heard from:

After hearing all comments, the public comment period on item 5(a) was declared closed.
It was moved by Mr. Wilkerson, seconded by Mr. Nunez, and failed, that starting at the intersection of Hope St. (PR# 3117) and Gayle St (PR#3115) approximately 2472 ft. / ½ mile) and the intersection of Gayle St (PR 3115) and Broussard Beach Road (PR# 3118), north to H. Picou Rd (PR# 3120), approximately 770 ft. be temporarily closed not to extend further than the present jury’s term (December 2027), with the stipulation that landowners or tenants have access to their property.
The vote was recorded as follows:
YEAS: Wendell Wilkerson and Ronald Nunez, Jr.
NAYS: Magnus McGee, Mark Daigle, Sam Bordelon, and Johnny Waston
ABSENT OR NOT VOTING: Michael Fewell
It was moved by Mr. Watson, seconded by Mr. Bordelon, and carried, the bid that was accepted at the Fire Board meeting held June 26, 2026 from Brad’s Electric, LLC in the amount of $78,875.00 for electrical improvements to the Klondike Fire Station is hereby approved.
It was moved by Mr. Wilkerson, seconded by Mr. Daigle, and carried, the board will go into Executive Session for:
a. Consider removal of Kevin Dupke from Lower Cameron Hospital Service District Board
b. Permit Office future staffing
The vote was recorded as follows:
YEAS: Michael Fewell, Magnus McGee, Wendell Wilkerson, Ronald Nunez, Jr., Mark Daigle, Sam Bordelon, and Johnny Watson
NAYS: None
ABSENT OR NOT VOTING: None
Mr. Dupke chose to have his discussion in a public meeting.
Mr. Barrett, Cameron Parish DA presented his evidence and reasons for removing Mr. Dupke from the board and questions were asked from the jury.
It was moved by Mr. Bordelon, seconded by Mr. McGee, and carried, the board ended the debate and called a recess.
The meeting was called back to order and Mr. Veron, attorney for Mr. Dupke presented his evidence and reasons against the removal of Mr. Dupke from the board.
It was moved by Mr. Wilkerson, seconded by Mr. Bordelon, and carried, the board hereby removes Kevin Dupke from the Lower Cameron Hospital Service District Board.
The vote was recorded as follows:
YEAS: Magnus McGee, Wendell Wilkerson, Ronald Nunez, Jr., Sam Bordelon, and Johnny Watson
NAYS: Michael Fewell and Mark Daigle
ABSENT OR NOT VOTING: None
The jury then went into executive session to discuss item 5(b).
It was moved by Mr. Wilkerson, seconded by Mr. Bordelon, and carried, the board shall return to regular session. The president called the meeting back to order.
The president appointed a permit committee consisting of Magnus McGee, Mark Daigle and Johnny Watson for policies and procedures, ordinances, forms, and staffing of the permit department.
There being no further business, it was moved by Mr. Wilkerson, seconded by Mr. Daigle, and carried, the special meeting was declared adjourned.
