Marcus Melancon

Marcus Ryan “Biscuit” Melancon passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at the young age of 44, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and countless people whose lives were brighter because of him. He was born Jan. 8, 1982, in Lake Charles to Emily Sue Labove and David Michael “Mike” Melancon.

He grew up in Grand Lake and graduated from Grand Lake High School in 1999. He spent the majority of his early work life as a jack of all trades and finally settled into the offshore life. On his days off, he spent every moment doing what he loved with whom he loved as if it were his last days on earth.

A man with a joyful spirit and a heart full of love, Marcus never met a stranger. He was known for his infectious laughter, warm smile, and ability to make every gathering more fun simply by being there. Whether singing karaoke, cracking jokes, or cutting a rug on the dance floor, he had a gift for making people feel welcome and hearts feel full.

Marcus found peace and adventure in the outdoors. He especially loved being out on the water, where he felt most at home. Whether fishing, cruising, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature from a boat, those moments brought him immense joy and contentment. He also loved to sing, dance, and celebrate life whenever the opportunity arose. His laughter could fill a room, and his enthusiasm was contagious. He believed life was meant to be enjoyed, and he inspired others to do the same.

Above all else, Marcus loved his family and friends. He treasured every moment spent with those he loved and built a life centered on making the best memories. His greatest happiness came from being surrounded by the people who meant the most to him. Though his passing leaves a profound void, his legacy lives on through the love he shared, the memories he created, and the countless lives he touched. He will be remembered for his generous heart, his adventurous spirit, and his unwavering love for family and friends.

Marcus is survived by his loving parents Emily Sue LaBove and David Michael “Mike” Melancon (Kathy Hebert); devoted companion, Rhonda Ann Folse; son, Keegan Ardoin; stepchildren, Taylor Folse (Lee Hardy) and Hunter Folse; granddaughter, Ava Hardy; siblings, Bethani Lyles (Matthew Lyles) and Chelsie Skero; niece, Charlie Mae Skero; nephews, Bryson Lyles, Brantley Natali, and Amery Skero; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins he dearly loved.

A funeral for Marcus was held Saturday, June 27, at 1 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Creole. Visitation began at 10 a.m. and lasted until the start of the service.
