Cameron Parish Recreation District 5 held its regularly scheduled meeting on May 21, 2026 at 6:00 pm.
The meeting began with the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance led by Jordan Thompson.
The invocation was led by Kris Howerton.
Board Vice President Jacob Babcock called the meeting to order and upon roll call the following members were present: Kris Howerton, Jordan Thompson and Lindsey Bufford.
Absent: Max Guthrie Employees in attendance were Lisa Ledano.
Guests present: Police Juror Wendell Wilkerson and Police Juror Sam Bordelon.
A draft of the minutes of the previous meeting, April 16, 2026, was distributed to all board members via electronic mail prior to the meeting. Kris Howerton made a motion to accept the minutes as presented. Jordan Thompson seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.

• Willscot lease extension – Kris Howerton made a motion to extend the lease for a period of 12 months. Jordan Thompson seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
Wendell Wilkerson addressed the districts millage expiration in 2027 and informed the board of some ideas that he and the other police jurors are working towards.
The board members present reviewed the invoices for the month of April 2026. Jordan Thompson made a motion to approve the bills. Kris Howerton seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
The financial statement for the month of April 2026 was distributed to all board members via electronic mail prior to the meeting. Kris Howerton made a motion to accept the financial statement as presented. Lindsey Bufford seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
With no further business to discuss, Kris Howerton made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Jordan Thompson seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
