Judge Penelope Q. Richard, who has served as District Judge since 2009, announces her retirement at the end of her term, Dec. 31, 2026.

She is deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve the citizens of Cameron Parish as Chief Judge for the past 18 years. Judge Richard looks forward to the next chapter of her personal and professional life by continuing to support the 38th Judicial District in any way she can, being active in the community and at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Creole.
