Cameron Parish Recreation District 5 held its regularly scheduled meeting on March 24, 2026 at 6:00 pm.
Board Vice President Jacob Babcock called the meeting to order and on roll call the following members were present: Kris Howerton and Jordan Thompson.
Absent: none.
Employees in attendance were Lisa Ledano and Vickie Pickett.
Guests present: Wendell Wilkerson, police juror
A draft of the minutes of the previous meeting, February 19, 2026, was distributed to all board members via electronic mail prior to the meeting. Kris Howerton made a motion to accept the minutes as presented. Jordan Thompson seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.

Adopt the 2026 millage rate – Jacob Babcock read the resolution aloud. The board members present voted to adopt the 2026 millage rate. The official vote was 3 yeas, 0 nays, 0 abstained, 0 absent. Public comment: none.
Contact Steve Corbello regarding demolition – Jordan Thompson made a motion to table the matter to a later date. Kris Howerton seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
The board members present reviewed the invoices for the month of February 2026. Kris Howerton made a motion to approve the bills. Jordan Thompson seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
The financial statement for the month of February 2026 was distributed to all board members via electronic mail prior to the meeting. Jordan Thompson made a motion to accept the financial statement as presented. Kris Howerton seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
With no further business to discuss, Kris Howerton made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Jordan Thompson seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Public comment: none.
