Cameron Parish Mosquito Abatement District No. 1

The monthly meeting of the Board of Directors of Cameron Parish Mosquito Abatement District No. 1 was held at 6:00 p.m., September 15, 2025 at the Cameron Parish Mosquito Abatement office. Board members present were Mitchel Kelley, Robert Trahan, Thomas Cox, and James Boudreaux. Karl Styron, Marck Smythe, and Bryce Carpenter were absent. Tom Barrett was also in attendance.
The meeting was called to order by Thomas Cox, who then asked for approval of the minutes from the last meeting, August 28, 2025. A motion was made by Mitchel Kelley, seconded by James Boudreaux, and carried that the minutes be approved as printed. A motion was made by James Boudreaux, seconded by Robert Trahan, and carried to approve the financial statement.
In old business, USAF IRT was discussed. Potential flight by the USAF is scheduled for October 8th.
Next, Tom Barrett presented a presentation regarding ad valorem tax. Then quotes for dash cams and 360 dash cams for spray trucks were discussed. Mitchel Kelley made a motion, seconded by Robert Trahan, and carried approving the installation of the forward facing dash cam only.
Mitchel Kelley made a motion, seconded by James Boudreaux, and carried to approve the sell of surplus equipment at the November 22, 2025 Pedersen and Pedersen Auction at the Burton Coliseum. James Boudreaux made a motion, seconded by Mitchel Kelley, and carried to approve the travel expenses and registration for LMCA meeting in Baton Rouge, and LAAA Convention in Lake Charles.
There being no further business, a motion was made by Robert Trahan, seconded by James Boudreaux, and carried to adjourn the meeting.
