Hornets struggle to keep up with Elton’s Lemoine

By Jake McCoy

It was certainly a track meet to say the least in which the Grand Lake Hornets wanted to avoid. But when you’re going up against one of the best running backs in the state in Elton’s Makelin Lemoine it’s a tall task for anybody’s defense. However, the Hornets still made it a really competitive game and did not give up despite a couple of key injuries during the contest.

JJ LaBove put the Hornets on the board first with a 47-yard run to give his team some momentum. However, that was short-lived as Lemoine put on a clinic rushing for almost 400 yards on the night and torching the Grand Lake defense as he has done to many others throughout the season. The Hornets’ offense still played exceptionally well, putting 35 points on the board.
