Recognition of Rodeo State Qualifiers given by Police Jurors

Cameron Parish Police Jury met for their regularly scheduled morning session on Monday, Oct. 6, at 10 a.m. in theCameron Parish Police Jury West Annex – Board Room, 148 Smith Circle, Cameron.

All jurors were present.

Meeting was called to order by President Ronald Nunez, Jr. and the Pledge of Allegiance/Prayer were conducted.

Jurors gave Special Acknowledgement to Rodeo State Qualifiers from Cameron Parish.

Al Jenkins of Florine addressed the jurors on Toledo Bend Water Sale. He informed the jury that the Sabine River Authority intends to sell the water to out of state concerns. He wanted to make them aware of the conflict and solicit their support as he indicated the Police Jurors are the first line of defense. He asked that they stand with their “Save Toledo Bend Water!” Initiative (find more information on FaceBook Group) and support no sale of water out of state. The Jury indicated it will review with legal and address at November meeting. Juror Ron Johnson suggested the language should include “no out of state or third party sales”.

A Violation Hearing was heard for 117 Magnolia St., Cameron. The owner was present and indicated that he had made progress after complaints had been received on the RV Park.
