Hornets rally in second half to beat DeQuincy

By Jake McCoy

It was almost a tale of two halves last Thursday in DeQuincy as the Grand Lake Hornets put their undefeated record on the line against a tough DeQuincy Tigers squad. Both teams traded scores back and forth at times during the first half but after a few halftime adjustments the Hornets shut out the Tigers in the second half. The Tigers certainly did not help their own cause with several penalties and a few key injuries occurring during the game in which the Hornets took advantage of and pulled away avenging last years’ 10-7 loss with a 28-19 victory over the Tigers.

Hopefully we will see a lot more of the Hornets and Tigers on the gridiron in the coming years!
