OF CAMERON PARISH
September 17, 2025
Gravity Drainage District No. 4 of Cameron Parish held a regular meeting at South Cameron High School, 753 Oak Grove Highway, Grand Chenier, Louisiana 70643, at 5:30 pm, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
Chairman Shane Broussard called the meeting to order.
Board members present for the meeting were Shane Broussard, Leslie Griffith, Yancy Welch, Zavier Theriot and Dan Nunez. All board members were present.
On motion of Mr. Nunez, seconded by Mr. Theriot and carried, the minutes of the Wednesday, August 20, 2025, meeting were approved.
In old business, members from Ducks Unlimited presented the plans for the Creole Marsh III (Boyd Allen Nunez Structure). The Board gave their input during the presentation and DU will send out final draft for Board approval when all changes are made. Ducks Unlimited personnel were David Hicks, DU Biologist, Jude Fuselier, DU Engineer and Brad Lambert.
On motion of Mr. Nunez seconded by Mr. Theriot and carried, the Board accepted the financial report of August 31, 2025.
On motion of Mr. Griffith, seconded by Mr. Welch and carried, the Board approved the following bills for payment:
1. Jeff Davis Electric Co-Op – $82.31
2. Cameron Pilot – $62.00
On motion of Mr. Nunez, seconded by Mr. Griffith and carried, the Board approved the addition of LCUP#251008, Cameron Parish Police Jury to the agenda.
On motion of Mr. Griffith, seconded by Mr. Theriot and carried, the Board approved the following permit: Permit: LCUP#251008, Cameron Parish Police Jury. Location of Permit: Cameron Parish; (proposes to install 37 Rain Gauge/Flood Alter Monitoring Systems throughout Cameron Parish with 20 installs mounted on existing infrastructure and 17 installs mounted into ground-surface along existing waterways and drainage channels/ditches to provide citizens, inclusive of first responders, early flood alert warnings to afford opportunities for implements public safety and protecting improved properties.)
There being no further business, on a motion from Mr. Welch, seconded by Mr. Nunez and carried, the meeting was declared adjourned.
