The Cameron Parish School Board meeting was held on Monday, Sept. 8, at 148 Smith Circle, Cameron Parish Police Jury-West Annex, Cameron.
All School Board Members were in attendance: Marsha Trahan, Dist. 1; Christi LeJeune, Dist. 2; Telesha Bertrand, Dist. 3; Mitchel Kelley, Dist. 4; Vickie Kiffe, Dist. 5; Sharon Picou, Dist. 6, Joseph Delcambre, Dist. 7; and Randall Faulk, Dist. 8.
Meeting was called to order and prayer and pledge were conducted.
Motions carried to approve the agenda the board minutes of the Aug. 11, 2025 regular meeting of the Cameron Parish School Board.
Motion carried to approve authorization of payment of the bills.
Recognition of the Grand Lake Elementary Jr Beta for their 3rd Place win at the National Jr. Beta Competition held in Orlando, Fla.
Motion passed for final approval of resolution relating to the bond issue that is expected to close on Sept. 11:
A resolution authorizing the Cameron Parish School District to borrow, not to exceed $25,000,000, through the Louisiana local government environmental facilities and community development authority; authorizing the execution of a loan agreement and various other agreements, certificates and documents in connection therewith; and otherwise providing with respect.
Motion passed to take necessary action on Cheniere LNG Pilot.
Kathy Hayes presented financial report. Motion passed to authorize payment of the bills.
Motion passed to renew Insurance with Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., Public Entity.
It was reported that the caution lights near Johnson Bayou High School were scheduled to be repaired by Robert Gates, Maintenance Supervisor.
Current construction activities report was presented by James Hoffpauir.
Motion passed approving Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with Cameron Parish Waterworks District 7.
Motion carried to approve revisions to the Cameron Parish School Board Pupil Progression Plan as presented for input to local stakeholder’s committee.
Motion carried to granting approval for Grand Lake High School National Honor Society to attend a field trip to NASA, Houston, Texas on Dec. 4th through the 6th.
